Die wahre Liebe zu finden ist oft nicht einfach. Manche Menschen haben das Glück und finden sie schon ganz früh, andere suchen sie ihr Leben lang. Aber wenn man sie dann gefunden hat, ist es so, als würde man sich schon ewig kennen. Denn ein Seelenverwandter ist jemand, der genau weiß, wie es einem geht und was man gerade braucht. Es ist der eine Mensch, mit dem man sich so wohl fühlt, dass alle Strapazen, die das Leben manchmal so mit sich bringt, plötzlich unwichtig erscheinen und die Zeit, die man mit diesem Menschen verbringt, das kostbarste Gut wird.
Dieser Mensch akzeptiert einen in jeder Beziehung genau so, wie man ist – und liebt einen mit all seinen Fehlern und Vorzügen, die man halt so hat. Man fühlt sich in den Armen seiner Liebe sicher und geborgen und braucht manchmal nichts mehr als eine Umarmung, um glücklich zu sein.
Oft sind es die einfachen Dinge, die eine Beziehung im Alltag ausmachen. Denn manchmal gibt es nichts Schöneres, als gemeinsam auf dem Sofa herumzulungern und Netflix zu schauen, oder stundenlang eng umschlungen dazuliegen, und sich über Gott und die Welt zu unterhalten. Und dann gemeinsam müde ins Bett zu fallen und zusammengekuschelt einzuschlafen. Und wenn man morgens neben seiner Liebe aufwacht und gemeinsam in den Tag startet, fühlt sich das einfach nur wunderschön an. Man vermisst diesen Menschen, wenn er das Haus verlässt und verzehrt sich nach seinem Geruch, seinem Körper und den wunderbaren Gesprächen. Und man freut sich riesig, wenn man sich abends nach einem langen Arbeitstag wiedersieht und sein Leben teilen kann. Natürlich ist auch in einer harmonischen Beziehung nicht immer alles perfekt und man streitet sich auch ab und an mal, aber wenn man seine große Liebe gefunden hat, dann gibt es kaum etwas, was diese noch zerstören kann. This is my thought process behind it: I was recently asked what’s one piece of advice I would give for someone in their relationship. I answered it in my most recent blog post but that question kind of stayed in my head for the last week or so. Before bed the other day I was thinking about a piece of advice my grandma gave me a long time ago on cultivating a beautiful and loving relationship. Her metaphor is with a rope. She said a good relationship is like the game ‘tug of war’ when one person pulls and needs more rope the other person gives up some rope and vice versa but once someone lets go it ruins the relationship just like the game. Sometimes your partner will need more “rope” more help or love or time etc. and you give more of yourself to help them with their needs. There will be other times when you need it from them. About a week ago I was feeling off and @joeyrudman did the laundry and dishes and ordered food for us. The week before he was sick and I took care of him and his needs. Most of the time we are both side by side enjoying life together and each doing our part in the relationship but sometimes we need to pick up the slack and do it with love and understanding. So in addition to my other piece of advice this would also be part of my answer. You always blow my mind with your interpretations and creativity. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . This is inspired by the situation that I think happens to all of us at one point in time. When you realize someone who seemed to be on the same “wavelength” as you reveals their true self by an action or conversation that at first seems to be out of character but then you find out they have been wearing a “mask” the whole time. I’ve learned being vulnerable and open is the key to a happy and successful life because by showing your true self to the world you keep yourself in tune with what aligns with you. I believe this goes for all aspects in life. The ‘Be true to yourself’ concept sounds cliche now because it’s been said over and over again but it’s been said so much for a reason. If you put up a facade you will attract the wrong things in your work life and personal life. My favorite illustration and poem related to this is one by Shel Silverstein.
