These 10 pregnancies on TV were real (and these 10 weren’t)!

Pregnancies are a pretty exciting thing, in TV series as well as in real life! And for pregnant women, it can be nice to discover that their favourite actress in a TV series is also expecting a baby. Nowadays, on-screen pregnancies are not always just part of the plot – often, the actresses are really “preggers” and the script had to be adjusted accordingly.

Not too long ago, actresses were not always allowed to integrate their pregnancy into a series’ plot and had to hide the fact that they were expecting. But fortunately, this changed in 1952. For this list, we picked out 10 TV pregnancies that were real and 10 that were fake – would you have known? Let’s see if you’ll get this right!

Real: Emily Deschanel, „Bones“

In “Bones” Temperance Brennan expected not only one, but two children. Actress Emily Deschanel was really pregnant at the time, and since her character was already married to fellow actor Seeley Booth, it was easy to write add the pregnancy to the script.

Real: Chelsea Peretti, „Brooklyn Nine-Nine“
