Die 80er mögen die Basis für alles gelegt haben, was direkt danach folgte – doch erst in den 90er Jahren wurde es musikalisch so knallbunt wie in keinem anderen Jahrzehnt! Nur in den 90ern konnte man auf einem Rave die Lust und das Leben feiern, um abends mit miesepetrigem Gesichtsausdruck Grunge von Nirvana oder Alice in Chains zu hören. Es war das Jahrzehnt, in dem Boybands Massenhysterie auslösten, während altgediente Stadionrocker weiterhin Arenen füllten.
Im Radio folgte auf „Waterfalls“ von TLC „November Rain“ von Guns N‘ Roses. Und erst in den 2000ern begannen wir zu verstehen, dass sich all diese Musikstile und kulturelle Nischen nicht einander ausschließen müssen…
